THE WHO
About Steve and Bek Deal - Steve grew up in Cootamundra and Bek on the Coast. We lived in California for 4 years before deciding to move home and start Bloom Co. We love Jesus. We are students of his word. We are worshippers, songwriters, musicians, singers and ministers. Whether it’s leading 3 people in worship in our living room or many thousands in our church home of the past 4 years at Sandals in California, we love to invite the Lord into a space and get out of the way so that Jesus is the one being glorified and he gets to do what he wants to do.
We’ve been at it for decades and have seen many church plants up close over the years, the good, the bad and the ugly. Our aim is to make Bloom Co as simple, beautiful and uncomplicated as possible. We officially launched in September 2024 and absolutely love the community that have gathered and now call Bloom Co home.
THE WHAT
We want to invite people into a life of becoming more like Jesus, into a community that searches for and releases beauty, that values simplicity and desires to let our lives, every part, be worship. We desire life changing worship infused with Heaven that seeks with a desperation to minister to the heart of God and glorify Him above all else.
Our desire is to see people immersed into an encounter with the Living God through songs, through the word of God and around the table eating and drinking together. In all of these things, we want to relentlessly pursue the presence of God and experience the power of The Holy Spirit together.
THE WHY
Our vision is to love Jesus and we want to see people bloom. That's our why.
We desire to see people on the Central Coast encounter Jesus and together, go on a journey to discover what it is to live a life of worship. 350,000 people live on The Central Coast and there are not enough churches, leaving the vast majority of the population unchurched.
Australia is a post Christian nation that has seen Christianity decline from 61% in 2011 down to 43.9% in 2021.
Over 15,000,000 of Australia’s 25,000,000 people do not identify as Christian so planting churches that operate in the power of God is a desperate need.
