## PART 1 — ETERNITY IN YOU

Ecclesiastes says God has set eternity in the human heart - and if that's true, then everyone alive is carrying something far too wide for the heart that holds it.

You've felt it. It has a pull, the kind that rises at the edge of the ocean, or in front of something beautiful. It asks for more than the moment can give: a particular hour of evening light, a song that ends before you're ready, the laughter of your kids in the yard, a place you've never been but somehow miss. Underneath every ordinary longing runs a longing that isn't ordinary at all.

It's the horizon that recedes exactly as fast as you walk toward it - not because it's running from you, but because it's endless, and you were only built to move through time, not hold all of it at once. It's the dream that felt more real than life, that vanishes like mist the moment you wake.

Nothing in this world can fill that longing. Love comes close and still runs out. Beauty comes close and still fades. Every satisfaction we reach for was only ever meant to point past itself, to our Maker.

So the ache isn't a flaw in you. It's evidence - proof that you were made for a forever you can't grasp, set into you on purpose by the eternal One himself, long before you had words for what you were feeling. A beacon, pulling your heart toward Him.

## PART 2 — THE CHOICE

The psalms tell us we glide along the tides of time as swiftly as a racing river and vanish as quickly as a dream - yet somewhere along that river, we feel Him. We hear Him. He is always speaking, and we are constantly faced with a choice that has no middle ground, though so many of us ignore it or put it off, afraid of the cost. Blessing or curse. Life or death. Surrender or defiance. Eternity or a permanent end.

If you choose life, choose eternity, choose Him, something happens in your heart - something words fall short of holding.

He doesn't leave you with only the longing. A down payment is made. The Holy Spirit arrives in the yearning heart the way a ring on a finger means a wedding is not just hoped for but certain. Contentment, peace, and joy are no longer fleeting, dependent on circumstance. They take root. God himself takes residence inside the believer's heart - a deposit on what is to come, if you choose life.

## PART 3 — THE MORNING THAT DOES NOT END

For the believer, there's a day coming when you will close your eyes, and for one breath it will feel like the end - except it won't be. It will be a gateway to a beautiful beginning, a falling asleep in a story that isn't over, held by the One who has never once let go of you. The fulfilment of the promise. The marriage.

You will open your eyes again, waking from that sleep. We can only imagine what it will be like.

Perhaps it will be like the moment Adam opened his eyes to see his Creator still kneeling in the dirt, having just breathed the breath of life into him - the crown of creation, made in God's own image.

My hope is that the first thing we see is the face of Yeshua.

Not a symbol of Him. Not a feeling about Him. Him - the same hands that were pierced now reaching for yours, the same voice that calmed the sea now saying your name the way only someone who has always known you fully could say it.

The One who formed you and breathed His own life into you before you ever took a breath. The One who left a throne in heaven to put on flesh and defeat death on your behalf - who commands armies of angels and holds the universe together by the same word that spoke it into being. Death could not hold Him; He walked out of it, and that same resurrection is now yours. He didn't just conquer death. He conquered it for you.

Every question you carried, every grief you never got to put down, every "why" that went unanswered - it won’t need answering anymore, because He’s standing in front of you, and He was the answer all along. This is what you were made for. Him.

Your body - flesh and bone — will be renewed, resurrected. You will be recognised. It will be you, not a shadow of you. You will stand on real ground, soil that smells like after the rain, grass that feels like Heaven underfoot. The garden was never a metaphor. It is coming back - larger and wilder than it was on its first morning, because all of creation, the whole Earth, will be made new. Every evil will be removed.

Every inch outside the city walls will be wild, filled with every animal that ever walked the Earth, living in a peace no world leader has ever come close to manufacturing.

## PART 4 — THE CITY OF GOD

And about that city: it doesn't have to be reached. It comes. It is already finished - Yeshua has been preparing it for us. Dressed like something that has waited its entire existence for this one moment to be seen, because it has.

It’s radiant, lit from inside by a glory that needs no help from the sun - bright as the clearest jewel there is, the kind of stone that holds light and gives it back sharper than it received it.

A wall surrounds it, high and unbroken, pierced by twelve gates - three to a side, facing every direction a person could arrive from, so that no matter which way you have wandered, there is a way in built for you.

Each gate is not built from pearl. Each gate is a single pearl - whole, seamless, too large to have come from anywhere ordinary.

A pearl isn't beautiful at its inception. It begins as a wound. Something foreign lodges where it doesn't belong, something that can't be expelled, and rather than being torn apart by it, the creature covers it, layer after patient layer, until the very thing that wounded it becomes the thing that shines.

That is what stands at every entrance to this city. Not stone quarried and set by hands, but wounds, healed over so completely they became the doorway itself.

The wall's foundations run beneath them in a ring of colour no quarry has ever produced in one place - the deep blue of sapphire, the green fire of emerald, the gold-veined warmth of topaz, amethyst, jacinth, onyx: a dozen kinds of light held still in stone.

And under your feet - everyone's feet - translucent gold. Not displayed behind glass, not weighed or guarded or fought over. Streets of it, worn down to the plainness of pavement, transparent as a night sky. The one material a world spent its history killing for is what you'll walk on without a thought.

No building is set aside as sacred, like an embassy of Heaven in a fallen world. No tabernacles, no temples, no churches. The whole place is sacred, filled directly by the presence of its Creator.

There is no sun, no moon, no lamp lit against the dark, because there is no dark left to push back. The light simply is, always, the way a river is simply always moving.

Through the centre runs a river, clear as moving glass, flowing straight from the throne at its heart. On either bank a tree grows heavy with fruit every month with overflowing abundance. never scarce, never late. Its leaves are not decorative. They heal.

No gate ever has to close, because nothing has to be kept out - there’s no night in which to lock a door.

At the centre of all of it, finally, is not a throne room kept at a distance, guarded and roped off. It is a face. Close enough to see.

You will watch the sun go down over hills that have never known a single grief, and feel your chest ache - not with sorrow, but with a beauty too large for one heart to hold. The sky will do things with colour it never dared in a world still waiting to be healed. You will not watch alone. He will be beside you, and you will finally understand: every beautiful thing you ever laid eyes on was Him giving you a glimpse of the world to come.

There will be birds - thousands of them, unafraid, singing not because they must but because they cannot help it, it’s the same overflow that spills out of you. There will be animals you've only read about, and animals no one has ever seen, because the natural and the spiritual will finally be reunited. The lion will lie down with the lamb, not because its hunger was suppressed, but because its nature was healed. Nothing will fear anything, anywhere, ever again - including you. Every anxious thought, every flinch, every night spent agonising over heartbreak, gone, the way darkness leaves a room the instant a lamp is lit. Every sadness and loss will melt away in His presence.

There might be a table - long, wooden, laden: bread torn by hand, wine poured without measuring, fruit and food you have no name for yet, laughter rising easy and unguarded into the evening air. You will eat to celebrate, not to survive, because for the first time eating will have nothing to do with death. How exactly that works is one more good secret He's keeping - one more thing you'll simply see instead of solve.

There will be music that doesn't sound like performance - it will sound like the truest thing you've ever felt, finally given a voice. There will be work: real work, the kind that leaves your hands rightly tired and your soul fully alive, tending a world that will never fight you back with thorns. You will look at what you've made, and it will simply, finally, be good.

And there will be no tears - not because you were told to stop crying, but because He will have wiped them Himself, one by one, the way a Father wipes a child's face after the storm has passed. Not one will be wasted. Every tear you ever cried alone - in the dark, in a car, behind a locked bathroom door - will turn out to have been collected all along, gathered by the same Spirit who groaned them out on your behalf when you had no words left. Nothing was ever lost. Not one drop.

But something deeper than the tears will be gone.

The war will be over - the one you never got a day off from, not even on your best days. The bracing. The proving. The quiet, exhausting work of holding your own heart together because you weren't sure anyone else fully was. All of that will simply stop - not because you finally won it, but because you won't need to fight anymore. He will have already won it, long before you arrived, and all that's left is to rest inside the victory instead of straining toward it. You will breathe deeper than you ever have.

There will be no jostling - no scanning the room to see where you rank, no need to be noticed or chosen or proven right, no small ache of being overlooked. Every version of you that ever needed to compete for love will find there's nothing left to compete for; the love was never in short supply, and it never had to be earned. And the questions you've carried since you were small - the ones that surface at 2am, or in the silence after everyone's gone to bed: do I have what it takes? Am I enough? Does anyone truly love me? - they won't be answered. They'll be irrelevant, the way a question about whether the sun will rise becomes irrelevant once you're standing in full daylight. You will be so entirely known, so completely seen all the way to the bottom, and still so completely loved, that the question will have nowhere left to live.

This is the surrender you've tasted only in glimpses here - the exhale after a long-held breath, the moment your body believes it's safe - except now it won't be a glimpse. It will be the ground you stand on, permanently, the air you breathe without remembering to breathe it. Every part of you that has ever braced for impact will finally, fully unclench. You will feel safe, past the point of question, past the point of proving.

He will find a moment to give you a small white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the two of you - a name that cuts to the core of who you actually are, the real you He designed you to be. The stone declares you not guilty. The name on it says you are fully known and fully loved.

And you will understand, all at once, standing in a garden that was always coming, at a table that was always being set, under a sky that was always practicing for this exact colour: this was never really about the garden. It was never really about the table, or the sunset, or the wine.

It was always about Him.

He was the reason Eden was beautiful. He is the reason the new earth will be glorious and radiant. He is the reason you get to experience any of it. And when that morning comes that never ends, you won't spend it chasing beauty anymore. You will be immersed in it.

You will spend forever, finally, completely - home, with Him.
